
OUR PURPOSE
Our purpose is to provide resources to enhance nurses and nursing students education surrounding MAiD. MAiD can a very sensitive topic for many individuals. It is important for the healthcare providers as well as future healthcare workers to be aware of the Importance to be considered for this treatment option. As of Now, MAiD has multiple different types of biases by each individual ranging from accepting the treatment, and being against it.It is important for us to be educated and maintain knowledge of updated status when it comes to MAiD.

Upcoming changes to MAiD
The eligibility date for persons suffering solely from mental illness is March 17 2027. With the expanded eligibility what will these changes look like for the further of mental health services, assessment requirements and safe guards within nursing.
Sunset Clause: excludes mental illness as a grievous and irremediable medical condition.
The government of Canada amends the criminal code to allow for advance requests following a diagnosis of a serious and incurable medical condition, disease or disorder leading to incapacity.
